Adeline Coenen, LMSW, earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa and is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW). Having grown up in Dubuque and lived in the community for most of her life, Adeline values the strong connection she has to her hometown and the families she serves.

Adeline is passionate about supporting elementary-aged children through a compassionate and developmentally appropriate approach to therapy. She primarily utilizes Play Therapy, recognizing that play is often a child’s natural language for communication and expression. In addition, she incorporates strengths-based and solution-focused techniques to help children build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills.

Her therapeutic approach also includes mindfulness, grounding strategies, and skills-based learning tailored to each child’s unique needs. Adeline strives to create a welcoming, accepting, and trusting environment where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
