Amy Steve, LISW is a Licensed Independent Social Worker, as well as the Owner and Clinical Supervisor of Midwest Counseling Associates. She also provides therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. Amy is deeply committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful, lasting change in a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment.
Amy approaches each client with authenticity, acceptance, and respect, believing that every person’s story is unique and deserving of individualized care. She is dedicated to providing a safe therapeutic space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow.
She has experience working with a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns, including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, ADHD, emotional and behavioral challenges in children, anger management, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, trauma, stress management, and grief and loss.
Amy utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused approach, tailoring treatment to meet each client’s specific needs. She integrates a variety of evidence-based and expressive modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy, Expressive Art Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques.
She believes in meeting clients where they are and supporting them in building insight, resilience, and practical coping skills that foster healing and long-term growth. Amy considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they work toward greater balance, emotional wellness, and a more fulfilling life.
