Dubuque Office
Olivia Godwin, t-LMHC, provides counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults in a supportive and welcoming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their mental health journey. She is committed to meeting each client with compassion, authenticity, and care, whether they are beginning therapy for the first time or returning for continued support.
Olivia is a graduate of Loras College and a proud Iowan. Her professional experience includes working as a school-based counselor, providing play therapy interventions for children, and supporting adults through both in-person and telehealth counseling services.
When working with children, Olivia utilizes a play-based therapeutic approach to help clients process emotions, navigate challenges, and build healthy coping skills in a developmentally appropriate way. She values creating a safe and supportive environment where children can express themselves through play and creative interventions. Some of the therapeutic tools she incorporates include sand tray therapy, board games, and movement-based activities to support emotional expression, grounding, and self-regulation.
In her work with adults, Olivia uses a person-centered approach while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic techniques, and strengths-based interventions. She believes in the importance of the mind-body connection and enjoys helping clients better understand how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical experiences influence overall well-being.
Olivia strives to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported, empowered, and encouraged in their growth and healing. Her goal is to help individuals develop insight, resilience, and effective coping strategies that foster lasting emotional wellness and personal growth.
