Vanessa is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience in the social work field. She provides individual counseling for clients ages 16 and older, as well as couples counseling, and is passionate about supporting clients through life’s challenges in a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment.

Vanessa earned her Master’s degree from University of Illinois Chicago and has proudly called the Cedar Valley home for many years. Throughout her career, she has worked with adults, couples, and families from a variety of backgrounds who are navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, complex health concerns, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

Her clinical approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a strengths-based perspective. Vanessa focuses on helping clients identify and build upon their natural resilience while incorporating practical, solution-focused strategies to support emotional regulation, stress management, communication, and healing from emotional pain and trauma.

Vanessa believes in meeting clients where they are without judgment and values creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and authenticity. She is committed to helping clients develop insight, healthy coping strategies, and meaningful tools for lasting growth and change.

Vanessa recognizes that taking the first step toward counseling can be both important and courageous, and she looks forward to supporting clients as they move toward greater healing, balance, and emotional well-being.
